Introduction

It's almost summer, and it's also a great idea to add some new colors to your hair without even dying it. Well! How about trying a hair wrap? Yes, we understand what you are thinking right now! This look has become quite famous in the hairstyle world. Also, it's a perfect way of trying something new for your hair this summer. Although it seems difficult to try it out by yourself, we are here to help you out in creating this nostalgic-inducing style.

Things You Will Need For A Hair Wrap

To create this extraordinary hairstyle, you will need:

  • Embroidered floss
  • Comb to detangle your hair
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Large and small hair ties; one for the braids and the other for tying up the hair which is not tied
  • Beads (in case you further want to decorate your hair wrap)

Steps To Make A Hair Wrap

To get those beautiful funky hair wrap, you need to follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Measure The Thread

The first thing to do is to measure the thread you will need for your hair wrap. Remember to measure your thread up to two to three times longer than your hair length. You can also take different colors of thread to make your hair wraps with.

Step 2: Sectioning Of The Hair

Next, you will need to section your hair. Choose a part of your hair where you want to decorate your hair. Generally, people like to make a wrap from about two inches of the hairline. Once you have chosen your hair wrap placement, get to the next step.

Step 3: Braiding Your Hair

Now start braiding your section. Make sure to do a clean and tight braid to make a neat and nice wrap. After reaching the end, tie it with an elastic. Also, you can rub a hair gel to avoid any outlines coming out of the braid.

Step 4: Take Your Threads

Take the threads and fold them in half. Tie a double knot to secure your thread to your braid ( fold the middle of the thread at the top of your braid). Drape the threads around your roots by pulling them through the folded middle. Make sure to make a tight knot to prevent it from budging all day.

Step 5: Wrapping Your Hair

Choose a color from which you want to start first. Align the thread in such a way that they hang down your braid. Start wrapping the first color around your braid. Continue doing so, until you reach one or two inches down your braid. Secure the thread with a knot. Now, add this thread with the remaining ones and start working with a new color. Repeat the process until you reach the end of your braid. If an extra strand of the thread is still left at the end, carefully cut it off with scissors.

Step 6: Repeat

If you want to create more than one wrap, you know what you have to do! Repeat the whole process by taking other strands of your hair. You can even use different colors or add beads to make the wrap look creative. Remember practice makes a man perfect! So practice doing the wrap until you reach the point of perfection.

Aftercare

Hair wraps are a temporary way to decorate your hair but don't forget to take proper care while the hair wrap is still on. Do not twist or play with the wrap way too much to avoid losing the weaving.

Hair wrap becomes a part of your hair once you have it in your hair. You can wash your hair with shampoo while you have your hair wrapped. It is advisable to blow-dry the hair wrap properly when they are wet. If the hair stays damp for a longer period, it will damage your hair very badly. Therefore, it is recommended to take proper care of your hair while enjoying that new hair wrap look.

How To Remove A Hair Wrap

A hair wrap can last up to 1 week or longer. But, if you wish to remove it beforehand, you can do so. All you need to do is to cut the knot from the roots of your hair and start untangling the threads slowly. Do it carefully to avoid any kind of knots or tangles during the unraveling process.

Conclusion

This hair wrap will give you the perfect funky summer look you want. Also, you can have a shower while wearing the hair wrap. Also, we recommend you try it on someone else's hair before trying it on your own. Once you get to know how it is to do, you will be able to create the hair wrap using various other things like beads, hair clips, etc.
